The Balanced Man Program (BMP) is what makes SigEp stand out among the Greek community and throughout student organizations. This program is what allows our brothers to have continuous development throughout their experience at SigEp. This program focuses on scholarship, leadership and life skills.
This program is built on five philosophical tenets: Equal Rights and Responsibilities, Continuous Development, Accountability, Living the Ritual, and Mentoring.

This program is built on five philosophical tenets: Equal Rights and Responsibilities, Continuous Development, Accountability, Living the Ritual, and Mentoring.
- Equal Rights and Responsibilities: A member is given full active rights the day he joins - a full contributor with equal responsibility.
- Continuous Development: Every year in college, brothers are challenged to develop themselves personally, academically, and professionally, which will allow for further growth throughout the brother’s life.
- Accountability: Brothers are expected to be accountable for themselves as well as other brothers. This accountability includes reaching goals, upholding standards, and behaving in alignment with their values.
- Living the Ritual: The Ritual experience is more than a ceremony. It is a daily practical application of each brother’s commitment to the values of the Fraternity. Brothers are encouraged to apply it to their day to day lives.
- Mentoring – This is one way to enable the development of brothers with themselves as well as other brothers. Through a series of four challenges, brothers begin their transformation.
- The Sigma challenge focuses on understanding the history of SigEp, our values, and our principles.
- The Phi challenge focuses on men beginning to understand themselves and their choices and ways to achieve balance.
- The Epsilon challenge focuses on leadership and community involvement.
- The Brother Mentor challenge entrusts brothers to guide new brothers and prepares them for their transition out of college.
